Verizon has opened the teaser page for its forthcoming flagship Android device in the Motorola Droid, which will be launching on October 30th. The national debut for the device will consist of the “DROID DOES WHAT iDOESN’T” national print/TV ad campaign beginning tonight during the ALCS, harkening back to the Sega vs. Nintendo PR wars of the early 90’s.
The Droid will also mark the official debut of Android 2.0, otherwise known as Eclair on an Android device, with the update originally expected to be released early next year.
Specifications consist of a 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display at WVGA resolution, OMAP 3430 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 application processor, PowerVR 430 MHz SGX graphics processor, QWERTY keyboard, microSDHC expansion slot, Android 2.0 (Eclair), 450 hours standby, 428 minute talk time, 5.0 megapixel camera/video recorder with flash, GPS transceiver with A-GPS support and speakerphone.
This will also be the first device branded by Verizon to not feature any specific customizations usually mandated by the carrier, a first for a current Verizon device.
wondering if droid will sync with now contact now up to date
I’m wondering if this is just me or…Did the droid commercials during the football games just get old fast??
Plus, if I wasn’t a tech savoy person, I probably would be lost on the commercials. My girlfriend wanted to know if they were for UPS……
Who did Verizon hire to make the ad?? Same people that did the crazy pre adds?? lol
I’m wondering the same thing — if Verizon Droid will synch with Now Up to Date. Does anyone know?
