Does the battery life on the Eris suck as bad as the battery life on the hero??

I can’t get a full 8 hr day of “normal use” on my sprint hero…

Really looking forward to Google Navigation on the Droid Eris. And It’s really been quite a useful phone thus far.

[…] According to PhoneNews.com: Verizon has begun uploading and staging the long-awaited Motorola Droid and HTC Eris firmware updates for rollout over the air in the next 48 hours according to reports received today. Preliminary confirmation suggests that the Droid update does indeed fix the autofocus bug found last month as well as improved battery life, audio quality and a new unlock screen. As previously reported, the updates for each device address multiple issues encountered since launch early last month, the biggest of which concern the aforementioned autofocus bug found on the Motorola Droid and a general maintenance update for the Eris before being updated to another Android version in the first quarter of next year. woke up this morning (NW Ohio) and had my update ready to install … only took a few min for the phone to download and reboot … thus far i notice (maybe my imagination) faster speed flipping thru apps, email and surfing the web … texting is smooth too … will see how battery life is over next few days … i love the eris … had the htc touch diamond which my wife now has 🙂 … she had an first generation alltel digital old white little flip phone so she has zoomed ahead in her phone experience too …

battery life lasts me all day with moderate to heavy use … very satisfied

Hopefully they do something about the ERIS battery life, it dies out way too fast!!! Tried changing brightness settings & turning off WiFi & still no major changes, still dies quick. There’s no point in being able to download apps when you can’t get enough battery life to play with them.

Do a recall for some better batteries or somethingn PLEASE.
