Mapquest Launches Beta Android Application

Navigation solutions developer Mapquest has launched its first navigation application for Android in a beta version with features such as free voice-guided turn-by-turn directions, walking and driving directions, real-time traffic mapping with automatic rerouting, satellite mapping and voice search. The application is completely free with no additional fees necessary for use.

HTC Confirms Droid Eris Update with Google Navigation for 1Q 2010

Following up, HTC has confirmed on their Twitter feed that the Droid Eris will be updated in the first quarter of next year to support Google Maps with Navigation following the recent release of the application for devices based on Android 1.6, after launching with a modified build of 1.5 earlier this month.
