Leap Wireless Rejects MetroPCS Buyout Offer
Leap Wireless has decided to reject an unsolicited purchase offer from MetroPCS, citing a lack of detailed high-level discussions, or an integration plan from the aforementioned carrier. As we previously reported, Metro PCS made a prior offer of $5.12 billion in stock for Leap Wireless, known for their successful Cricket fixed rate local cellular service.
Metro PCS Testing Sony Ericsson T606
I’m getting unconfirmed reports that MetroPCS is currently testing the SonyEricsson T606. They go as far as to say that it will be an exclusive phone. That’s not good news, as MetroPCS has extremely spotty coverage, and currently no internet services (though they are CDMA2000 1x-RTT, so they may launch them with this phone).
