Verizon has formally posted the changelog and update instructions for its forthcoming Android 2.1 update for the Motorola Droid, its current flagship Android device ahead of the launch of the Nexus One.
The update will feature the improved 3D Photo Gallery application, voice-to-text, news and weather widgets, pinch-to-zoom gesture support, improved pattern lock for the user interface and live wallpapers, functionality previously thought to be exclusive to the Nexus One. Motorola previously stated that live wallpapers would not be present in the Droid update to Android 2.1.
According to the most recent information available, the update will be staged and rolled out on Thursday beginning at 9AM PDT/11AM CDT/12PM EST in waves of 250,000 devices until completion.

Now I am on the fence with getting a Droid or a Nexus One. Ughh.. I hate making these decisions.
will it apply to the devour also?
I would get the Nexus One as long as all the problems are worked out. I made a mistake and got it for T-Mobile. Sent it back cause of all the network problems and got a Droid. They say Droid 2.1 wont have the 3D app drawer, but that’s fine… It was annoying anyway. Looks aren’t everything.
I might stick with droid
Reason!
if something goes wrong with my droid i can take it to best buy and have it fixed or replaced
the nexus, you either have to send it in and be without a phoen
or you they will send you a new one with a return box, but you have to pay 530 hold charge on a credit card till they get the old one.
i dont know if i like the idea of having to do eveyrthing by mail
