According to Verizon internal documentation, the Motorola Droid 2 has been pushed up from its late August launch timeframe up to the middle of the month with a 1 day pre-order sale ahead of its projected launch on Thursday August 12th, the same day as the recently announced BlackBerry Torch. The Verizon Motorola Droid 2 is expected to be the first Android device on Verizon released with Android 2.2 as well as the first device from Motorola launching with the latest update.
