Verizon today in their usual tiered sense of PR releases announced three major events. Early this morning they announced that there will be a new $60 unlimited plan for voice-plan holders. Unlike the $80 plan, it will be an add-on to an existing account, but will also allow for unlimited access unlike the $15 VCast plan, which prohibits tethering. Data cards also are supported by the plan. This also combined with the announcement that EV-DO would be promoted in TV ads, which launched later in the day.
This corresponded with the announcement that EV-DO was fully available in the Sacramento Valley as well as San Francisco area, and, unlike Sprint’s staggered deployment, should fully cover those areas.
Finally, Verizon launched the LG VX5200 late today. The mid-to-low-range flip-phone is now available from their web site.
