Following up on the previous information leak, Verizon has officially announced the forthcoming launch of the Motorola Devour Android device set for next month.
The Devour will be the first Verizon-branded Motorola Android device with the manufacturer’s popular Motoblur social-networking oriented user interface.
The technical specifications for the device consist of a touch-sensitive optical directional pad, 3.1 inch capacitive touch screen display at HVGA resolution, aGPS support with device location and remote wipe support, pre-installed 8GB microSDHC card and Bluetooth with stereo audio suppport along with previously confirmed hardware specifications.
As with all Verizon smart devices a Nationwide Talk or Nationwide Talk & Text plan and a Data Package for smartphones is required for purchase. Pricing for the Devour was not immediately disclosed in the announcement.
