The worst kept secret in the carrier branded smartphone arena has officially been confirmed in the T-Mobile version of the long awaited HTC HD2 Windows Phone Classic smart device, with information leaks going as far back as October of last year.
The device, which has been available in Europe for the past six months, features a 4.3-inch capacitive WVGA resolution touchscreen display and HTC’s Sense user interface on top of Windows Mobile 6.5 (not 6.5.3). The T-Mobile version will go on sale on March 24th for $449.99 on an Even More Plus service plan, or $199.99 with a 2 year agreement, as previously confirmed.
Among the new features found on the T-Mobile version is a new Blockbuster application where users can download and purchase/rent movies over Wi-Fi to store on the bundled and pre-installed 16GB microSD card starting at $4.99, with a full purchase option at varying pricepoints.
The T-Mobile HTC HD2 will also be pre-loaded with a new Barnes & Noble eBook reader application that will pair with a pre-existing or new Barnes & Noble account for ebook purchases and the latest version of the MobiTV streaming video service along with including digital copies of the first Transformers and Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen formatted for the device.
can HTC please do us all a favor, and do this phone justice and release it on Sprint SOON.
I second the motion on putting this on Sprint. Better yet, T-mobile wakes up and works a deal with Clearwire so they will have 4G too..
HTC is making a new 4.3 display, 4G phone for Sprint. It won’t be a Windows phone. Will be announced March 2010. Problem, of course, is Sprint new “Simple Everything” plan structure. It is expensive.
