Regional carrier Metro PCS has announced in a press release today that it has launched service in the Las Vegas and surrounding Clark County area utilizing its new AWS spectrum it won in 2006 as a result of the AWS FCC auction.
The carrier will begin offering three recently launched AWS 1700 compatible phones in order to complement its new network starting with the UTStarcom CDM-7126, Samsung myShot, and Spex. The company will also open and operate a total of 60 locations in the area by the end of the year and four more corporate owned locations in the aforementioned area by July.
