HTC has confirmed on its Facebook page, as well as Verizon over their own Twitter account that the recently announced HTC One for the carrier will launch next Thursday, August 22nd for $199.99 after a new 2 year agreement. This follows the opening of the emails registration page earlier in the week.
As previously reported, the HTC One for Verizon will feature a 4.7-inch 1080p display at 468ppi, Ultrapixel camera at 4.0 megapixels with optical image stabilization, an f/2.0 lens element, real-time HDR video capture, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 with BlinkFeed along with an infrared transceiver and universal remote control software.
Hardware will consist of the 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of embedded mass storage depending on the carrier’s decision to range one or both models, NFC support, a 2300mAh battery and front-facing stereo speakers with machined and drilled apertures for improved volume. The audio features also include a built-in high-power amp and an extra microphone for noise cancellation and high-volume audio/video recording without distortion.
Update: Verizon spokesperson Albert Aydin has confirmed on his Twitter account that the HTC One model being released by Verizon on Thursday will be the 32GB silver/aluminum model for $199.99 and will ship with Android 4.2.2.
August 22nd in Tuesday, not Thursday.
