The FCC has revealed a rendering of a new BlackBerry device that
includes a Wi-Fi radio, which may be the much anticipated 8820.
According to the test documentation the device is a quad-band
GSM unit with 802.11a/b/g access and fits between the BlackBerry Pearl
(8800) and 8830 with no consumer oriented multimedia features.
RIM’s CEO has made stated that the company plans to release at least one Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry later this year.
