Leap Wireless has announced in a press release that it has begun offering expanded voice coverage for Cricket flat-rate customers in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Francisco, California; Jacksonville, Miami, and Orlando, Florida.; Atlanta, Georgia.; Indianapolis, Indiana.; Detroit, Michigan.; Columbus, Cleveland, and Toledo, Ohio; Dallas, Texas; and Green Bay, Wisconsin as a result of expanded and new roaming agreements.
The expanded coverage is available at no extra charge on $45 and $50 service plans with lower tier plans requiring a $5 surcharge while data service and PAYgo customers do not benefit from the expansion. Â This move mirrors competitor MetroPCS with their recent voice-only coverage expansion for customers in 300 markets last week.
