Verizon is now making the Pre and Pixi Plus nearly irresistible for new customers by repricing them to $49.99 and $29.99 respectively with no rebates required. An additional BOGO special being offered on both devices as well.
However, the biggest news lies in the change in pricing for the Mobile Hotspot feature on both devices, going from an additional $30 offering on top of the required device data plan to being included at no additional charge.
This move represents a major win for consumers both savvy and normal, as Verizon is effectively allowing tethering for multiple devices over Wi-Fi at no additional charge. To add to the good news, customers that have been paying for Mobile Hotspot will have the previous month’s charge for the service zeroed out on the next bill and will be included at no cost going forward.
PhoneNews.com awarded the Palm Pre Plus on Verizon Wireless the 2010 Phone of the Year.
That is great news! I wonder if sprint will follow suit? Especially with 4g launching all over the place. This is probably verizons way in competing with the everything plan. Although most savvy people have been able to tether for free for a long time now.
Wow, is this true or is it an April fool’s joke?
I think this can be done on Sprint with an app, Sprint does not restrict this.
You can use My Tether on Sprint’s Palm Pre. Sprint does say that they require Phone As Modem plans, but per the FCC’s Comcast/BitTorrent ruling, any hacks that bypass that appear to be legal. No carrier to-date has challenged that ruling.
