Verizon has issued roaming list updates for many popular plans. Users are reporting that both America’s Choice II and new Nationwide plans have received updated PRL files.
Updating your Preferred Roaming List, or PRL, helps speed and improve the accuracy of your phone’s ability to locate roaming providers. In recent years, it also has been used to improve EV-DO acquisition on-network, as well as provide access to data roaming services domestically and internationally. Verizon recommends you update tell your phone to check for a new PRL file at least once a month.
To update your phone, call *228 and chose option 2 at the prompt.
DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PRL! IF YOU LIVE IN A SUBURBAN AREA, YOU WILL GET NO SIGNAL. THEY ARE FORCING THESE NEW PRL’S ON ALLTEL CUSTOMERS TO PREVENT USAGE FROM OTHER TOWERS!
