According to screen caps taken from internal Verizon update documentation, the Thunderbolt will be the first carrier supported Android smartphone to feature Android Gingerbread 2.3.4, the first Gingerbread version to feature support for Google Talk with Video support for two-way video chat over 4G service.
The update also includes the previously announced Skype with Video functionality first demonstrated during CES earlier this year in January as well as further improvements, such as additional Microsoft Exchange Extensions, improved aGPS functionality, updated Sense user interface and preloaded Amazon AppStore app.
Roll out for the update is expected for the end of the month following the delay of the previously scheduled MR2 maintenance update in favor of the new Android build.
