Verizon has purchased a license for wireless spectrum from Alpine-Monterey F in order to expand services in northern California at a cost of four and a half million dollars. The license covers four hundred and twenty-six thousand people in the Monterey-Salinas area, with the goal of increasing capacity and meeting demand for service. In related news Verizon has announced it completed network upgrades in New England at a cost of three hundred eighteen million dollars in 2006.
