Verizon has quietly posted a reference to a future launch of the Motorola Nexus 6 through the carrier’s sales channels. While the carrier officially supports the device and will activate it without issues, the carrier has yet to offer the popular phone for sale, until today’s reference. The link takes visitors to a generic email registration page for future information.
The Nexus 6 features a contoured aluminum frame, a 5.9-inch Quad HD display and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The large screen is complemented by dual front-facing stereo speakers. It also comes with a Turbo Charger, for up to six hours of use with only 15 minutes of charging. Hardware specs include a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM and either 32 or 64GB of internal storage running Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nexus 6 is currently available for $649.99 from Google Play.
People should keep in mind that the Verizon version *may* have the following limitations:
* Possibly locked bootloader
* Possibly delayed updates from Google
* Possibly unable to use AOSP-built builds and/or third-party firmwares
Would strongly encourage people who regularly read this site to buy from Google/Motorola, or buy a pre-owned variant. Only the AT&T units are all SIM locked, though I’ve seen reports that Sprint versions may now be too domestically.
