Verizon has announced the forthcoming launch of its variant of the BlackBerry Bold 9650 starting Thursday via its online store and June 10th via all consumer sales channels.
The BlackBerry 9650 will also usher in the debut of Verizon’s new rather expensive GlobalAccess Connect tethering service starting at $65 monthly access for 5 GB in the United States and Canada at a $0.05/MB overage rate and a 100 MB allowance in over 100 countries at a stunning $5.12/MB overage rate on.
There is also a $155 monthly access option that offers the same 5 GB allowance in the United States and Canada and an increased 200 MB allowance in the aforementioned number of countries at the aforementioned rates along with Global VZNavigator support for Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and England .
Hardware specifications consist of a 480 x 360 resolution display, Wi-Fi radio, single-band HSPA support, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, microSDHC expansion slot, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and video recorder, speakerphone and 3.5mm headphone jack. Further specifications include built-in GPS support via aGPS and internal dedicated transceiver along with QWERTY keyboard and optical directional pad.
Pricing is set at $249.99 before an additional $100 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $149.99.
