Motorola has officially announced the Flipout Android device after months of leaks and speculation. The device is much like the Nokia Twist on Verizon Wireless with a swiveling hinge that conceals its keyboard.
The Flipout will feature Android 2.1 along with a refined version of the MotoBLUR user interface that includes a new Battery Manager power management application, 2.8-inch QVGA resolution touchscreen display, 3.0 megapixel camera with digital zoom and video recorder, 512MB internal storage with a 2GB microSD card bundled, GPS support with enhanced compass, Wi-Fi radio, QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth with stereo audio support and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pricing and availability was not immediately disclosed outside of the second quarter for Europe.
