Verizon has launched two new smartphones to refresh its prepaid lineup in time for the recently announced increases in data access allotted to smartphones in the LG Optimus Zone and LG Exceed. The Optimus Zone features a a 3.2-inch QVGA display, 800MHz processor with 4GB of internal storage, 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 3.0 and a 1,540mAh battery running Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread for $79.99.
The LG Exceed is the 3G-only version of the postpaid LG Lucid launched in the last year and is identical, save for the lack of LTE access with a 4-inch display protected by Gorilla Glass, a 5.0 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, front-facing camera and a dual-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for $129.99.
As mentioned earlier in the article, Verizon has increased monthly data allotments on its monthly prepaid service plans, with 2GB of data for $50 or 4GB for $70 per month following increased pressure from virtual operators and other carriers.
