Verizon has announced the launch of its own variant of the HTC One mini 2 in the HTC One Remix, set for launch on Thursday for $99.99 after a new 2 year agreement, with Verizon EDGE pricing to bet determined at launch. The phone is identical to the international One mini 2, save for the addition of CDMA/LTE radios. The One Remix features the following specifications:
OS | Android KitKat® 4.4.2 |
Display | 4.5-inch HD display |
Communication | Verizon Messages – sync with a Verizon Wireless smartphone to send and receive text messages from the tablet |
Camera | 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera |
Memory | 16 GB internal storage (actual formatted capacity is less) with support for up to 128 GB microSD card |
Battery | 2100mAh |
The persistent use of Snapdragon 400 in these “mini” is annoying – only Sony and Motorola have avoided it in the Z1 and Droid mini versions.
Just because I want my screen 15% smaller doesn’t mean I want my processor 50% slower.
Ideally Droid Mini 2 will feature a Snapdragon 800 (or ideally, 801/805 – but that’s a pipe dream probably).
