Roaming service provider Truphone has announced immediate availability of its “Local Anywhere” SIM-based international roaming service.
The service functions by purchasing a SIM card and choosing between three roaming rate plans, currently between the US and United Kingdom, with more countries being added later this year.
Two of the packages also include a local phone number for use in the UK when roaming in country, which allows for much cheaper local rates when using voice, data or messaging compared to international roaming rates provided by domestic carriers, with competitive roaming rates when traveling across the wider European mainland.
