Update: T-Mobile is now reporting based on this high level of coverage to their announcement that they currently have a 90% network deployment of EDGE up-and-running.
In a brief note on their about page, T-Mobile has stated they will launch their nationwide EDGE network next month. Since the start of the year readers have been reporting the appearance of EDGE on their network, and T-Mobile has already launched their first EDGE phone, the Motorola V330.
However, T-Mobile is not attempting to advertise the network as 3G, calling it a 2.5G network. This is despite the fact that Class 10 EDGE is generally considered a 3G protocol, which does question if T-Mobile will enable Class 10 (230k/second) network-wide.
