T-Mobile Announces MyTouch 4G Slide, More HSPA+ Markets

MyTouch 4G SlideT-Mobile has announced the successor to the HTC-sourced MyTouch 3G Slide in the 4G Slide. The phone’s trump card is its rear-illuminated 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus, dual LED flash along with new features such as zero shutter lag via instant capture to cache when the Camera app is launched, Sweep Shot for capturing panoramas, HDR support, improved low-light performance, and burst shot support. It also captures 1080p HD video, and includes video editing software for on device editing.

The rest of the featureset includes a 3.7-inch Super LCD display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, HTC Sense 3.0, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, as well as a slide-out QWERTY keyboard for messaging and adds group messaging, Qik video chat software along with the now standard HTC Genius Button for voice commands. The phone will be launched next month with pricing set at $199.99 after new 2 year agreement and availability information to be determined.

In related news, T-Mobile has announced the rollout of more 4G markets with the latest in Barnstable, Mass.; Chico, Calif.; Lancaster, Penn.; Ogden, Utah; Redding, Calif.; Vineland, N.J., and Winchester, Va. with the carrier now claiming HSPA+ coverage across 190 markets.
