Sprint has resumed updating of the HTC EVO 4G. Calling the broken devices as isolated incidents, they have resumed the firmware update cycle OTA.
Sprint encourages all customers to accept the update when prompted, for the changes previously listed.
The update is identical in form to what was previously being pushed from Sprint’s servers. There is no need to re-run the update if you have already updated. If your device was bricked by the update, Sprint recommends taking the phone to a device service center for a free replacement.
The deployment of the update was halted soon after it began, amid concerns that the update itself was the culprit. It now appears that the update was causing phones with an existing defect to brick upon accepting the firmware flash.
Clear/Sprint lit up some more WiMax areas, no press here about it?
