Sprint Powers OQO Model 02

OQO today took the wraps off their second-generation UMPC device. The OQO Model 02 conforms to the Microsoft UMPC specification, and is Vista-ready. In addition to a faster processor, more memory, HDMI, and a longer battery life, the device comes with optional EV-DO. The embedded add-on is available for an additional $149 for any Model 02 configuration.

Sprint will be providing EV-DO service for the device, and the card will be offered at the standard aircard rate. However, it is notable that the device comes with EV-DO Rev 0, not Rev A. At this time, there is no way to upgrade the current model to support Rev A. The OQO Model 02 is shipping now with free Express Upgrade to Windows Vista.
