Sprint today has launched, in addition to their plan changes, and as previously reported, EV-DO for data card customers. The breaking news of today is that EV-DO will launch today in 34 cities and major metropolitan areas (most of which we broke news of launch dates in-line with the current launch). For a complete listing, see Sprint’s EV-DO web site, or read more.
Verizon, in contrast, has launched EV-DO in 43 markets, which maintains Verizon as having the largest EV-DO data network currently.

Here is the complete list of current EV-DO markets planned to be established by 2006. Sprint’s web site has not yet updated with the new EV-DO coverage maps, so many markets will still reflect coverage as “coming soon” rather than currently available.
