Sprint Closes ETF Loophole

Reports from readers have streamed in today that Sprint has closed the SMS rate hike loophole that has enabled many Sprint customers to leave contract-free. Sprint is now enabling customer service representatives to grandfather customers that wish to cancel into the older rate of $.10 per message sent or received. This removes the material change from the specific customer, removing their ability to cancel without early termination fee.

Customers that wish to waive the increased SMS rate should contact customer service before October 30th to object to the rate hike, locking them into the older pay per use and overage rate. PCS Intel was the first organization to confirm that Sprint was honoring this as a material change. Sprint media relations has declined to comment on the recent rate increase.
