Both Sprint and Verizon have announced that they will update their respective flagship devices to Android Jelly Bean 4.1 later today via OTA update. The Verizon Galaxy S III will be updated today with Google Now, new notifications, ISIS compatibility, and Project Butter support, while the Sprint update will be pushed to the HTC EVO 4G LTE, with nearly identical specifications, save for the exclusion of ISIS support.
While both devices will be updated in a relatively timely manner, what remains to be seen is how the carrier versions of Android 4.1 will perform compared to the Nexus version. Verizon and Sprint have yet to confirm updates for other devices.
