Today at CES, Samsung presented a Google TV enabled set-top box that also offers Blu-Ray support. Samsung has built two demonstration units that are still in testing as the company has yet to fully to commit to further development of the devices. The company is concurrently promoting its own line of Smart TVs with its own app store and content deals.
I’m curious how this device will play out as I’ve already become accustomed to my Logitech Revue w/ GoogleTV. As an employee of DISH Network I first was exposed to Google TV through the Revue back in September and fell in love with the device. And now, after owning one for a few months, I cant imagine going back to not having it. The convergence of my entire DISH DVR content and programming plus the web into one seamless interface on my TV has changed the way I watch TV and for the better. This is the future of TV, guys.
