In an attempt to stop a leak of a build of the yet to be released Android Ice Cream sandwich version of Android that will officially launch this Fall, Samsung’s general counsel served an unnamed developer a cease and desist order that barred the person from releasing the dump and anything related while ordering the return of the data to Samsung as well as any hardware. Â In doing so, the counsel inadvertently confirmed that the build that was to be leaked and led to the C&D came from the Samsung Nexus Prime, which has been the subject of much rumor and speculation, but didn’t have much in the way of concrete facts behind it, until now.
With the accidental confirmation of the device by the counsel, this makes the Samsung Nexus Prime the first Nexus device to be a direct successor to the previous model in the Nexus S, also by Samsung, and makes Samsung the first company to develop two models in the same series. The Nexus Prime is expected to be the first Android handset to be launched later this Fall to feature Android Ice Cream Sandwich, but technical specifications and hardware have yet to be confirmed.
