Mobile solution developer Qualcomm has announced the establishment of Qualcomm Innovation Center, Inc. (QuIC) a new subsidiary focused on mobile open source development with the intent to optimize Qualcomm’s product range down to the hardware level for use with platforms such as Symbian, Android and Chrome as well as development work with WebKit and Linux.
The company has stated that it has not adopted specific platforms into its product line, it is merely contributing development work for integration into possible future products.
