Photos & Details: Motorola at CES 2009

First up, Motorola’s newest smartphone, the Surf A3100. We were able to confirm with the product manager for the phone, that it will ship with Internet Explorer Mobile 6 (aka 6 on 6). We asked about an SDK for the home screen, but like HTC’s home screen, it will be locked down at first. However, if the device gains traction, it may be opened up (a la XPERIA X1 on Sony Ericsson).

The VA76r (pictured below) was a bit of a surprise to hold, it feels a lot more like a Motorola QChat phone on Sprint than it appears in the stock photos. Stores will have stock by this weekend, with an official launch on the 13th.

The Q11 is still without a U.S. carrier. While it seemed a lock for T-Mobile, Motorola denied that it has been.

On the other hand, the Motorola Renew W233, which is made of recyclable and “green” parts is indeed headed for T-Mobile. The phone has added an MP3 tag to the front of the phone… mostly because phones on that platform generally can’t handle MP3 beyond ringtone support.

And, of course, the Aura… you didn’t want the V70 then, you still probably won’t want it now that it’s in color and a few thousand dollars more.
