Palm has unveiled a new version of their PocketGear based Application Store software which is now available for more than 25 Windows Mobile devices and Palm OS based devices.
What is different about this application is that they are no longer relying on venerable partner Handango to serve up applications for users and offering up a more centralized experience for downloading free and paid apps.
The storefront features over 1000 free applications and over 5,000 applications and games for Palm OS by ACCESSâ„¢ and Windows Mobile in an easy to navigate storefront compatible with many devices, no longer confined to the Palm device lineup.
Palm is aiming to refocus the perception of Palm devices as little more than appointment books with cell phones to fully fledged mobile computing devices that once dominated the smart device landscape and are now in direct competition with RIM and Apple.
Don’t download it. All the software does is install a stupid link to a web site. (With a very badly design install proses as well.)
Why don’t they just post a web link!
Silly Palm.
