Besides the confirmation that Verizon would be getting its variant of Google’s Nexus One in the Spring, more evidence has surfaced that AT&T and now Sprint will be getting their own variants as well this year.
First, in an ecare exchange, a Sprint representative had this to say when a customer specifically asked about availability of the Nexus One on Sprint:
“Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding the nexus one. Unfortunately, this handset model is not on offer as of now.
Once it is launched, you will see promotional campaigns related to the launch date, cost and the features of the handset on our Web site and other promotional media.”
Verizon is getting the first CDMA version. Only question is when Sprint gets theirs. Yes, I know Sprint’s eCare can be the worst when it comes to actual knowledge (especially on internal policy), but this makes too much sense.
Second, the FCC revealed a new model of the Nexus One in its filings with a different model number and support for US/Canadian 3G on the 850/1900 bands.
I just hope they have some month to month options and if they do make it for all phones
“Once it is launched, you will see promotional campaigns related to the launch date, cost and the features of the handset on our Web site and other promotional media.”
Isn’t that exactly what they said during the T608 days?
Yea. You guys have reached a new low, reporting based on what an Ecare rep vaguely states. Wow…
This in no way means the Nexus One is coming to Sprint. Just another clueless CS rep….I bet that rep didn’t think their comments would be this famous! Its being reposted to every “cutting edge” blogger site. Do some real reporting.
Damned if you do damned if you don’t, but its still news.
so can someone help shed some light on the potential differences on possible upcoming Sprint devices.
first I’m really interested in the upcoming HTC Supersonic slated for Sprint later this year and second I’m really interested with the Nexus One if it does make it to Sprint, I do know they are both rockin the Android 2.0+ but what else does everyone else know about these devices in comparison.
Thanks
Mr. Saabedra, keep up the good work ! Unfortunately, as u already know, u cant please everybody ! Perhaps, people like carlos can find another website more suited to their needs ! Some of us enjoy & greatly appreciate the reporting that this website offers…… Thanks again.
[…] Jobs. Over at Sprint, Creepy Girl and her Palm Pre have every right to be nervous: according to Phone News, a Sprint customer asking customer service about Nexus availability on the Now Network was reported […]
Learn to Spell….its Sprint not sorint in the article lol
Can somebody point me to the forums? Back to topic, since Google is the only seller at this point and vw has a month to month option. Do you all think when Sprint gets it they’ll have one too? It would be sweet if the chopped $10 off the plan too
Sprint will not have a month to month option unless you are already out of contract and purchase the phone outright.
