Following up on Saturday’s HTC One KitKat confirmation for Sprint, HTC has also listed the Virgin Mobile HTC Desire (601) and the Boost Mobile HTC One SV for future updates to Android KitKat. This follows previous confirmation of the Desire (601) update by Virgin Mobile reps last month, and the first confirmation of KitKat for the older One SV sold on Boost Mobile, which was launched one year ago this month to roll out LTE access on the Sprint Prepaid Group.
The Boost Mobile HTC One SV is a variant of the HTC One VX meant for smaller carriers with LTE support, a 4.3 inch display at 800×480, a memory card slot, Beats Audio integration and the same 5.0 megapixel HTC ImageSense main camera as found on the One VX, with a front camera.
The Virgin Mobile HTC Desire 601 was released early last month and features Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.0, BlinkFeed, and HTC Zoe support along with a 4.5-inch qHD display, 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM, 5.0 megapixel camera with back-side illumination technology and 1080p video capture, dual front speakers with BoomSound technology and an embedded non-removable 2200mAh battery. It also features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and 8GB internal memory with a microSD card slot supporting 64GB cards.
I was interested in buying the htc desire 601 for virgin mobile. But I am confused . Can you explain the reason htc used an embedded, non-removal battery in the virgin mobile version of this phone, but not in the original htc desire? Does this ruin the phone? What if the batttery stops charging? What if the phone freezes and the battery can’t be removed? Any information you can provide would be apreciated. Thank you. P.S. I hope this isn’t a stupid question, I am pretty new to the world of android smartphones.
Yea the battery is removable and no that isn’t a stupid question
i have the virgin mobile desire 601 their is no embedded battery watch and unboxing on youtube and they will show u the battery
Very much confused :/ two days ago, HTC updates page on their website listed the Boost Mobile HTC One SV for a 4.4 Update. Decided to check again today and now its taken off the list and now its saying it will get a 4.2.2 update ! But then again the Virgin Mobile Desire is still listed on the list for HTC phones scheduled for a Kit Kat Update ! Can Someone Please Explain??? Thanks
You and others need to write HTC about the SV their trying to leave the phone in the dust like it’s not a high performance phone they need to know that the SV deserves the 4.4 update since it was barely released last year it shouldn’t be treated like this.
I tweeted HTC about the HTC one sv and the said it would not be receivingany future updates, I am totally disgusted by this.
IDK what happened dude but yea the phone is getting jelly bean that could have been a typing error.

There was a website error, it may say now that Boost will give out the 4.2.2 Jellybean update, but that’s not true at all. I received word from HTC USA that the HTC One SV for Boost Mobile will indeed receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update around April :-).
I would like to see a screenshot or some form of proof or for right now I’m sticking with the jelly bean update.
What about kitkat update for the HTC one Sv in the uk, HTC UK says its to get no further updates.
