HTC representatives have confirmed that the US and Canadian variants of the HTC One will be skipping the Jelly Bean 4.2 point releases and moving straight to 4.3 in order to lineup with the international Jelly Bean 4.3 updates already rolling out across the world, with the update timeline being set for the end of September.
In addition, the update timeline for the HTC One update also applies to the Verizon HTC Droid DNA, that phone being a variant of the Asian HTC J and being released only months before the flagship One. While the update for the One was expected, it was expected that the Verizon variant would ship with 4.3, although Verizon representatives have since confirmed that the One will ship with 4.2.2 first, then be updated to 4.3 pending the completion of carrier certification in time to meet the current release timeframe.
