Following up on a previous report, internal T-Mobile documentation has confirmed that Google will sell the forthcoming Nexus One Android device directly to consumers.
Google, with support from T-Mobile, is scheduled to launch a new Android device in early January. The Google Android phone will be sold directly by Google via the Web.
Support for the device including troubleshooting and exchanges will be managed by Google and HTC. T-Mobile will offer service support including billing, coverage, features, and rate plans. Additional details and Streamline content regarding the launch of Google’s Android phone will be coming in early January.
The above confirmation means that T-Mobile will not be offering the device directly.
In related news, Google has invited members of the press for a conference at the Googleplex in Mountain View on January 5th, where the Nexus One will be officially confirmed.
