Not long after announcing the HTC Status, AT&T has announced that the Facebook-oriented smartphone is available now for pre-order with the launch set for July 17th.
Pricing is set at $149.99 after a new 2 year agreement before and additional mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $49.99. Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile standalone stores will feature and launch an exclusive mauve color of the phone.
The HTC Status features a 2.6-inch touch display; Android Gingerbread, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP; 5.0 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, and VGA front facing camera; gyroscope, compass, proximity and light sensors; 800MHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor, 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for microSDHC cards.
The Status runs the latest version of HTC’s Sense user interface as found on the Sensation, but heavily modified to fit the display and features deep Facebook integration with the inclusion of a dedicated Facebook key.
