AT&T Announces Future Launch Of ZTE SPro2 Mobile Projector/Hotspot

By Humberto Saabedra on January 6, 2015

ZTE-Spro-2 wide

AT&T has officially announced plans to launch and carry ZTE’s second combination mobile hotspot and projector in the SPro2. The device can project a 720p HD image or video at up to 120 inches across the diagonal plane onto a wall or screen. At 200 lumens of output, it’s also twice as bright as the first-generation projector, and can connect to smartphones, tablets, and laptops via Bluetooth, HDMI, or USB. The device also features its own operating system powered by Android with a 5-inch touch display and a simplified user interface that makes it easier to use compared to the first model.

Owing to its Android underpinnings, the projector can also be used to stream almost anything, including Google Play Store purchases. The device is powered by a 2.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and supports microSDXC cards up to a theoretical maximum of 2TB. The battery is said to last for up to three hours of projection time, or up to 10 hours as a mobile hotspot without projector functionality enabled. Pricing and launch details have yet to be confirmed.
