Apple has released iOS 8.3 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch to the general public. The update adds several new features to the slate of mobile devices, such as over 300 new emoji and an updated keyboard for using them in messages. The update also adds the ability to filter incoming messages to help sort out junk and spam messages.
Other features include wireless CarPlay support, letting owners connect their iPhones to CarPlay systems without a Lightning cable and support for Google two-factor authentication for Google apps along with a new toggle that allows device owners to download free apps from the App Store without the need to use a password.
Siri also gains the ability to speak Danish, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish in iOS 8.3, and can now initiate phone calls via the speakerphone when requested. iOS 8.3 was previously released as a public beta for developers and power users beginning in January.
