Alltel has launched its version of the LG Rumor on Sprint which it calls the Scoop.
The featureset is identical to the Rumor with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, microSD expansion slot, Bluetooth, media player, 1.3 megapixel camera, and support for the Celltop user interface. The phone is available now for $99.99 after a new 2 year agreement before an additional $40 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $59.99.
So i just got this phone, and i bluetoothed ringtones over from my old phone now i can’t set them as the ringer when i go to my audios it says EMPTY but i have them in my audios under multimedia…… ANY HELP? on how to use them as ringers! ?>
Audio files transmitted via Bluetooth cannot be assigned as ringtones on the Scoop. You have to download them over the web… there are many free upload tools on the web that facilitate this for you.
Any further help with this, even without Bluetooth? Any way to assign ringtones from a MicroSD card that came from my previous phone that was not an LG? I’m not to “phone” savvy when it comes to this.
Christopher – can you give a web adress for the tools you mention? I’m frustrated because I would like to use mp3s that I have as ringtones. Is this not possible?

What about users that are Alltel wireless, instead of sprint? Any other websites?
That should work for both Alltel and Sprint users, unless Alltel’s version of the firmware has something to deny the ability to download ringtones over-the-air. Since the scoop uses BREW instead of Java, that is a possibility.

Here a helpful forum site for the LG AX260 or Scoop. It will explain how to load mp3 on your phone and allow the phone to recognize them as ringtones. It’s not too difficult. I had the same issue and just got my phone a week ago. The ringtone issue was driving me crazy.

I just got the scoop a week ago and I read all of the other posts about the websites for using ringtones. but what i need to know is for this last one… howardforums.com do i need to buy the usb cable. if so where can i get it and what else do i need?

A good place to get the SD card is Staples or some Krogers’. The default Pass for all cellphones is 9999
The Instant Messaging feature uses standard text messaging fee’s but if you have unlimited text messaging then theres no charge
The best place to get MicroSD is http://www.newegg.com they got 2G for 12 bucks before shiping. I have made a lot of purchases through them and they ship fast. Waiting a couple days beats 20 bucks for 1G in the store.

It does perform rather well on the Sprint version. Not the best phone, but certainly a good one in terms of reception.

I just got my Lg AX260 today and I’m having a problem with my photos I downloaded on my microSD card. When I put it in my phone it still shows my images are empty. Can anyone Help!!!

oh and abouth the microsd card you should be able to have a choice to move almost anything on your phone on to the card then you put it into your phone and they should be there or just move it via bluetooth. both ways should work if not you have a bad microsd card
I have the scoop and bought the usb cable and it came with a disk that has backgrounds and ringtones on it, does anyone know how to get them from the disk to my phone. I know how to put my own ringtones on there just can’t figure out how to move the ones from the disk to my phone. if anyone is interested I bought my cord from ebay just type in lg scoop in the search. I also downloaded wavepad and made my own ringtones. alltel gets enough of my money but no more buying ringtones from them and they sound so much better than the ones from alltel.

if you have your older phone you should just buy a micro sd card and put it in your old one move the music to the caard and put it in your new phone . or you could move the songs via bluetooth
either way should work

does anyone own the green lg rumor from sprint??? If so i’m really curious to know if it is a dark green or a light green. on the rumor commercial it look like a darker army green, however when i looked on the website it looked like more of a lime green. any input???

rlee the green lg rumor from sprint is more of a lime green. my friend just got it. the moto rokr is a good phone. the scoop is, too but the ringtone ordeal is ridiculous.

and i’ve tried various sites where you download it from the internet browser on your phone or have it texted to your phone.
none of them will let me set them as ringtones.

i’m trying to use a micro sd in my phone(scoop). i can get the music onto the card but when i put it in my phone it still says it’s empty. but a friend of mine uses the same sd card and her’s will work in my phone. what am i doing wrong? please help.
So if you can’t Bluetooth songs to your Scoop and apply them as ringtones, you have to download them from the web, from your phone? Is that correct? Also, I Bluetoothed pics from my computer to the phone and it wont let me apply them as Picture IDs but it doesn’t allow me to, anyone know why or if there’s around that?
Also, I’ve noticed that when someone sends me a long text, and I want to review it later on, it only shows me half of the text, why can’t i see the whole thing?
Next, for those of you looking to my SD memory cards or USB cables, EBAY people! I just got a cable for 9 bucks, (3.99 for the cable and 4 for shipping!). I made the mistake of buying a 1G memory card at Best Buy and today I saw they had them on ebay for .99, sucks. Oh well, hope you guys don’t make the same mistake!

Ok this is what you have to do……………….you need to have picture/video text messaging in order to do this! Have someone you know with ringtones to send them via text and save the ringtone to your phone not your memory card. Once the ringtone is saved then go to the shuffle folder go into the ringtone list folder, then press add then you should be able to set your ringtones. The only bad thing is your ringers ring randomly you cant set certain ringtones for certain people! You have to have at least two ringtones in your shuffle. And remember to change your save options in your settings folder to “Save to phone” if you have a memory card otherwise it will not work!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah and if you are bluetoothing ringtones in order to set it as ringtones you have to send the ringtone via text to yourself and save it to your phone in order to use it as a ringtone.

I bought the LG Scoop for my daughter. One month and one day after she had the phone the screen went blank. We got a new phone through the mail exchange program. She has not even had the replacement LC Scoop for a week and already the screen is going blank again. Anyone else have this problem?
