HTC has announced the forthcoming launch of the HTC Tattoo, formerly known as the Click. The Tattoo will feature interchangeable backplates with the choice to choose from ready made designs or creating a custom design.
The technical specifications center on the 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor featuring 512MB of ROM and 256 MB of RAM, Android with Sense UI, a 2.8-inch touchscreen display at QVGA resolution, European dual-band HSPA/UMTS and quadband GSM/EDGE, internal GPS transceiver, Wi-Fi radio, digital compass, accelerometer and Bluetooth with stereo audio support along with a 3.5mm headphone jack, 3.2 megapixel camera with video recorder, autofocus and microSDHC expansion slot.
The device will be launched in Europe in October with more markets to be announced at a later date.
Probably the most controversial thing about Tatoo, is the lack of a capactive screen.
I’m going to buck the trend, and say that Android will work fine on it. Android, like Windows Mobile, was designed to run on a host of devices, including ones that don’t even have a touch screen.
