In a press release, Verizon Wireless has announced the pending launch of what it calls Version 1.0 of its open device access specificications during a developer conference to be held on March 19th and 20th.
The specifications will be designed around allowing anyone who designs around them access to the Verizon Wireless network as a part of its “Any Device, Any App” initiative launched late last year which includes consumer access using such devices starting later this year.
Verizon has also stated that it will seek input from OEM’s and manufacturers in order to refine the specifications outlined in the aforementioned document.
