Verizon has begun to roll out its long-awaited Android Gingerbread update for the HTC Thunderbolt again after last-minute delays by both Verizon and HTC.
The update pushes the device to Android Gingerbread (Build Number: 2.11.605.5; Baseband: 1.48.00.0906w_1, 0.01.78.0906w_2)Â and features a spate of additional updates and fixes, though it is not clear if this official update finally addresses long standing issues with the built-in hotspot functionality as well as issues with spontaneous reboot behavior and other bugs.
Previous leaks of Gingerbread updates were tested by PhoneNews.com and all were found to have various issues and the last release on October 4th was also confirmed to have issues with voicemail notifications, which led to our previous report. The latest rollout of the update is expected to resolve all of the above issues. Under Manage Applications, a new “Running†tab displays a list of active
applications and the storage and memory being used by each. Power
efficiency mode option has also been added under Settings > Power.

+ Full Dock Mode App:
This App includes three shortcuts at the bottom: Gallery, Music
and Calendar. In addition, this mode showcases Friend Stream

and has a slide show as the background wallpaper. Within this App,
a user can also enable the mobile hotspot in dock mode.
