The news will continue through the weekend, but we’d like to pause a second to talk about something controversial around the office.
Usually, we’re good at gauging readers. But, there’s an all-out feud going on at MechaWorks about Twitter. Half the team says you want Twitter integration. The other half says you wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole.
So, we’re turing to you, the reader, to decide to settle this. We’ll roll out Twitter support, starting with PhoneNews.com (of course). But, you’ve got to motivate us to do it.
If 100 people sound off in the comments, this weekend, asking for us to go the Twitter route, we’ll do it. Bonus points if you can describe what you want from Twitter (we all agree that some cheap feed/syndication isn’t the answer).
No, this isn’t some gimmick. No, we haven’t even started on Twitter support. And no, we aren’t going to name names in the Internal Office Twitter Feud.
So… comment away. Or, don’t comment away. We’ll be interested to see what happens.
yes please make a twitter! your tweets would keep me upto date!
YES–please post updates on TWITTER. It would make our lives easier. Thanks
sure … Twitter, I’m not in it but for you I would sign up
why not?
Twitter???? I guess people with no lives of their actually enjoy that. How sad. Guys get a girlfriend and leave Twitter alone.
@ E
Haha, that was pretty strong but I pretty much agree with you. I wouldn’t go as far to say that people with no lives, but I do think twitter is kind of extreme. lol
I love phonenews.com as it is now, TWITTER FREE!
No twitter!
I would sign up.
You guys should go for it!
As for what to post on it, maybe one thing the staff could link to is some interesting new apps/games/music/videos they like, that we can view or download on our mobile devices?
make it happen
That would probably be a pretty good idea, I am new to twitter, but have been an avid reader for about 4 years now… i could get some nice quick updates that way
You might set it to tweet about new articles with the title and short description. That’s all I can see it being useful for, an abbreviated RSS feed, more or less.
Nope, not all use twitter and isn’t just as easy to send an email without the twitter limitations?
only 12 comments?? Not good…
The readers have clearly spoken… no twitter for the forseeable future.
We’ll ask again if the folks in Mountain View decide to make a move on Twitter… that is, if they can figure out how in the world to turn a profit off of “poor man’s email” – Eric Schmidt, Google.
