Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Verizon Wireless CEO Ivan Seidenberg has elaborated on previous statements made by the carrier in the last few months to introduce a tiered data offering in the wake of the forthcoming LTE network launch slated for later this year in 30 markets. Seidenberg confirmed that Verizon would indeed introduce a tiered data pricing scheme in the wake of AT&T’s recent changes in 4-6 months, but that the changes would reflect on Verizon and not ape AT&T’s current DataPlus and DataPro offerings, which have been criticized for their relatively low allotment and comparatively high cost compared to previous plans.
