Verizon Wireless has officially announced that it will carry the standard iPad models with Wi-Fi beginning October 28th across all of its retail stores bundled with the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200.
The bundles will be sold at $629.99 for the iPad Wi-Fi 16GB + MiFi, $729.99 for iPad Wi-Fi 32GB + MiFi and $829.99 for iPad Wi-Fi 64GB + MiFi. Verizon Wireless is also offering a new monthly access plan to iPad customers of up to 1GB of data for just $20 a month. In addition, Verizon Wireless will also offer all three iPad Wi-Fi models on a stand-alone basis without the MiFi bundle, with pricing still to be determined.
I’m already using the Verizon MiFi with my WiFi-only iPad that I purchased back in April when the iPad launched, it sure beats using AT&T’s 3G network! Only problem that I’ve ran into is that I use these two devices for business throughout the day and found the MiFi battery only lasts a few hours whereas the iPad battery lasts about 8-10 hours on average for me. This was kind of a disappointment but for anyone else that needs their MiFi battery to last as long as the iPad I highly recommend getting an extended life battery More info: http://bit.ly/extendedmifi
