Following up on this morning’s confirmation of unlimited data for the iPhone on Verizon as a limited-time promotion for $30 per month, Verizon spokesperson Brenda Raney has confirmed to Macworld that pricing for the included mobile hotspot functionality will be the same as on Android smart devices for 2GB of data transfer per month at an additional $20.
Were a customer to add both unlimited iPhone data and mobile hotspot, the monthly charge would add $50 on top of a voice plan per month. Another, much less costly alternative for the time being would be purchasing the Palm Pixi on prepaid for $79.99 and adding the $15 150MB data plan which grants 5GB of mobile hotspot access, perfect for tethering to the iPhone.
